Welcome to Ottawa’s newest source outdoor sporting goods! Wild North Gear Trade Inc. was established in November of 2016. We provide new and “almost new” sporting goods to Ottawa and surrounding communities. We continuously search for clearance/closeouts, factory seconds, or demos/samples on new products to provide affordable sporting goods at pricing families can afford.

 

Founder and sole Owner, Chris, is an outdoor sports enthusiast and kayak instructor who has always had a keen eye for a bargain. After a long career as an IT professional and some time studying Civil Engineering, Chris realized he wanted a career sharing his love for sports and getting great deals. The sports he’s most passionate about are cross country and downhill mountain biking, white-water kayaking (instructor and guide level 2), and downhill skiing/snowboarding, so likewise, he decided he would base his store around these sports and by popular demand would include a few others.

Wild North offers a large selection of new and lightly used sporting goods that includes mountain bikes and parts, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and canoes (for flat water OR white-water), downhill skis, snowboards, and snowshoes. In winter 2017/18 we hope to include cross country skis in our fleet.

Chris is also a qualified ski and bike mechanic. Wild North offers wax and sharpening services for skis and snowboards, and light tune-ups for bikes.
